Site Manager – Commercial Construction

About the Organisation:A well-established Western Australian construction company delivering a diverse range of commercial projects across multiple sectors. The business offers an opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of site operations while working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and project stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:As a Site Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required standards. You will manage trade activities, coordinate documentation, monitor quality and compliance, and work proactively with project stakeholders to resolve construction and site issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage daily site activities
Plan upcoming trade activities and coordinate with subcontractors and trades
Coordinate project documentation and ensure information is accurate and up to date
Monitor quality and environmental compliance
Chair subcontractor meetings and other site meetings
Identify and proactively resolve construction and documentation issues
Review documentation and shop drawings for accuracy
Manage site health and safety requirements and industrial matters
Ensure compliance with current building practices, standards, and regulations
Apply a strong working knowledge of building industry contracts
Liaise with consultants, clients, client representatives, government authorities, and utilities officers
Monitor project delivery against time, budget, safety, and quality requirements
What You Bring:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Manager or similar role
Proven track record delivering building projects valued at $5m+
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate trade teams
Non-adversarial and collaborative approach to managing site teams and subcontractors
Strong communication, interpersonal, and self-management skills
Ability to work autonomously while maintaining focus on programme, budget, safety, and quality
Strong initiative and ability to perform effectively under pressure
Sound knowledge of construction methods and building processes
Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of building costs and commercial considerations
Working knowledge of building services
Ability to approach complex issues methodically, practically, and thoroughly
