About the Organisation: A well-established industrial and commercial construction contractor delivering projects across Queensland and interstate. With a strong pipeline of work and projects typically running for 4–9 months, the organisation offers an opportunity to work across a variety of industrial projects while developing your construction career.
What You’ll Do: As a Leading Hand, you will take a hands-on role in the day-to-day delivery of industrial construction projects. You will lead trades, coordinate subcontractors, manage site activities, and work closely with Site Supervisors, Project Managers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead trades and coordinate subcontractors on industrial construction projects
Support the Site Supervisor with daily site operations
Coordinate materials, deliveries, and construction activities
Assist with project programme and workflow coordination
Maintain health and safety, quality assurance, and site documentation
Monitor crew productivity and ensure works remain on schedule
Work closely with Site Supervisors, Project Managers, clients, and other stakeholders
Assist with resolving site issues and maintaining efficient project delivery
Travel to projects across Queensland and interstate as required
What You Bring:
Previous experience in industrial construction
Previous experience as a Leading Hand or senior tradesperson
Relevant trade background is preferred
Experience working on live sites or brownfield projects is preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to coordinate trades and subcontractors effectively
Strong understanding of site safety and quality requirements
Ability to work remotely and travel for project assignments
Flexible and proactive approach to changing project requirements
